This is my beautiful sister-in-law, Jenny, and her family. Jenny was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma earlier this year. She had a very successful surgery at M.D. Anderson on August 11 to remove lymph nodes and her saliva gland and afterwards, a clean CT scan that shows no more cancer! Yesterday was her first interferon injection - she says 1 down and and 258 to go. She will take the injections for 5 years on a low dose instead of 1 year on a really high dose. She experienced some flu like symptoms last night after this first dose, so we pray that won't be the case everytime.
Jenny has been such an inspiration to me. She is so brave and so strong and she's taught me so much about faith and strength over these past months. I can see grace and peace in her in a time that you wouldn't normally think you would. We know that we can do all things through Christ, who gives us strength... whether its fighting cancer or praying for our loved ones who are facing the battle.
Please just keep Jenny and her family in your prayers. We are blessed to have her and blessed by God's amazing gifts of healing and strength.
