We ♥ Track

We have three track stars, and now that the season is over, here are some of the highlights.

 

 Tyler ran the 100 m dash, the 400 m dash and the mile relay this year.  He qualified for District in all three and he placed 2nd in District in the 400 m dash.

Here, Hayden is holding Tyler's block for his final race in the 400 m dash.  He barely missed first place by .01 seconds.

 

 Hayden mainly threw the discus this season.  He is ready for JV track next year. 

 The coaches put him in a couple of races.  He did not enjoy running, but he did his best.  Its just not his thing, unlike his brother and sister.

 Aerin placed at her District Meet in both the long jump and triple jump.  She's fun to watch.  

She's like a frog; its amazing!

 And she ran in three relays this season, the 400 meter relay, the 800 meter relay and the mile relay.  She was the anchor and they won their races at the District Meet.  She had an incredible season.

Zip Line Adventure

If you haven't ever ventured to Palo Duro Canyon, its certainly closer than the Grand Canyon (for most of you) and its a beautiful (and inexpensive) day trip.  We've seen the musical "Texas" and we've hiked the canyons a couple of times, but this was a new adventure for our family.  Just before you enter the gates of the park is an RV Park that has a Zip Line that crosses over a portion of the canyon.  And I'll let the pictures and GoPro Video take over from here.

Hayden and Johnny zipped first.  Johnny held the GoPro in his hand.  Its like a bird's eye view!  Then he filmed Aerin and Tyler coming in to the landing.

The group says they'd do it again in a heartbeat.  Not one of them was really as scared as I feel they should have been (lol).  Made for some cool pictures and video though.
