Happy Thanksgiving!!

We shared our Thanksgiving holiday with my family and Johnny's family. It was such a full and blessed weekend. Johnny's brother, Kelly and his family made a 10 hour trip up to Fritch from far East Texas and all of our kids had so much fun spending time together.
The Cowboys got NOTHING on the Burritts!
I hope that you all had a very happy and very blessed Thanksgiving!

A GREAT Saturday!!!

Wow what an amazing day!! First...
I got this giant with my rifle laying on my belly on the edge of a cliff. His name is Cliff!!

and THEN HAYDEN....

Hayden was walking with Johnny and they both saw this guy laying in the grass. One shot - and Hayden had him down. Wow, we were shocked and stunned and yelling and so so proud!!!!

The biggest white tail I've ever seen and Hayden's first buck - all in the same day. What a blessing! He named his buck Ranger Smalls Hunt. Big name! He is still bubbling with excitement - but nothing like Johnny. He just keeps telling us he's so proud... That's the best part!

Johnny's Buck, Fred

Congratulations baby on the perfect shot on a big beautiful 8 point whitetail!!

He named this one Fred.... probably because he thinks its silly that I make him name his deer ... but that's for Aunt Kolly!!!

Two Lucky Shots -

These are two amazing pictures that our trail camera took down at the lease. I would loooooooove to take credit for these, but all I did was crop the date and time off of the bottom of them. Just thought I'd share...

Tyler's Deer Blind

Tyler came to Johnny one Sunday after we'd been hunting and said, "Johnny, I'd like to build my own deer blind".... and Johnny jumped on the opportunity. So they planned, they drew, they erased, they drew again, and they built a really cool blind. Fingers crossed that Tyler can get his first deer this season!

Turkey Turkey Time!!

****ADDED NOTE*** I want you all to know that our family always eats what we hunt. Johnny fried up the turkeys for supper on Friday night, and we didn't have a bite left after this weekend. And the deer are processed into steaks and roasts and sausage too! I didn't want you to think we were just out there killin' stuff! Johnny got one!! Actually he got TWO - and the most amazing part - HE GOT TWO IN ONE SHOT! He shot one, and the arrow passed through its head and then went into another one. He really is an excellent excellent shot! And NO coyotes got these!!
