Tyler's Birthday Weekend

Tyler turned 12 years old this weekend. He is the #1 fan of the Texas Rangers - just ask him - and we had a Texas Rangers birthday party on Saturday. Here's a run down of the weekend.

FRIDAY - The kids have a new pet turtle, Rocky, that we rescued from the street.

(Although Rocky might not feel like he's been rescued.)

We took Tyler and Hayden and Aerin this time to Plemmons Bridge. Johnny has this incredible gift to make everyone so scared that we all are about to cry (yep, including mom)...especially when it comes to visiting the bridge... on a full moon night... even better!

SATURDAY - Tyler had his Ranger's Party. The kids got a 4 wheeler for their summer birthdays, so they got to drive it around while mom and dad were working on the party.

Hayden and Grandma - Hayden and Mimi

I made a cake for Tyler. Its a bit lop-sided, but made with lots of love!!!

The kids also got Beatles Rock Band for their summer birthdays... and looks like they're happy about it!!!

Tyler and his Great-Grandparents, Granny and Grandad

Tyler's friend, Garrett, came over for all the birthday fun and football too.

Ice cream, cake, and jumping on the trampoline... what a brave man!

Plemon's Bridge

There is an old ghost town called Plemon's that is between Stinnett and Borger. (you can see it at www.ghosttowns.com/states/tx/plemons.html ) The actual town has been bought by a rancher, but there is a bridge that used to go across the Canadian River and connect Plemmons and Borger.... one of the scarier places around our area. So naturally, we waited until dark and took Aerin out this weekend! Look at these cool pictures.

Summer fun

Sunday afternoon.... up to 100 degrees, in the SHADE .... let's go fishing!!!The fish were definitely biting. Grandma caught several........ but Aerin was the winner for the day - she caught over 10!!! She is a fishing QUEEN!Plus she caught a turtle! But Johnny's the one that caught this BIG bass and showed us all up!

But Aerin looks the cutest holding it!

Memorial Day Craziness!!

We have a knack for cramming about a month's worth of activities into 3 days... and this weekend was no exception.Major fun jumping in the sprinkler.
Johnny's broken ankle from playing Hide-and-Go-Seek in the dark. Yes it really is broken. No, he didn't rest this weekend. No surgery or cast needed - he's tougher than any cowboy I've ever known - and a darn good Daddy for playing Hide-and-Go-Seek in the dark!

Saturday, our brave kids spent the night up in the tree house.

I don't know that anyone slept much - including Mom and Dad in the house.

Sunday and Monday - We went fishing and hunting and camping and marshmellow roasting down at the lease.
